Human bones, the human body, the human brain, and human behavior have been central themes in Dr. Richard Jonathan O. Taduran’s academic journey, weaving together biology, culture, psychology, and forensics. He holds dual doctorates: a Ph.D. in Biological Anthropology and Anatomy, specializing in Craniofacial Biology from the University of Adelaide, where he studied human variation, skeletal biology, and complex adaptive systems; and a Ph.D. in Anthropology with a focus on Psychological Anthropology from the University of the Philippines Diliman, where his research investigated cultural perceptions of the human body, identity, and memory.

Additionally, Taduran possesses a postgraduate degree in Forensic Anthropology from the University of Central Lancashire, where he received specialized training in forensic taphonomy, trauma analysis, and human identification. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at University College London (UCL), concentrating on forensic science, crime scene interpretation, and expert decision-making.

His academic journey has been bolstered by competitive scholarships and awards, including the NHMRC Research Excellence Award (Australia), the University of Adelaide Research Fellowship, the UCL Postdoctoral Fellowship, the MSc Forensic Anthropology Scholarship from Lancashire, the DOST-SEI Scholarship, and the Philippine Science High School Scholarship. He has also received the Gawad Lagablab for Outstanding Achievement in Scientific Research and has been consistently recognized among the Top 3000 Scientists in the Philippines.
